Background

PT Austraining Nusantara (PTAN) was established in 1993, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Austraining International, to manage education and training development programs in Indonesia. Since then, PTAN has become a nationally recognised provider of world class training and technical assistance to donor agencies, government and the private sector.

Project Expertise

PTAN’s breadth and depth of experience in institutional strengthening/capacity building programs is demonstrated through the implementation of more than 100 development projects across a range of sectors in Indonesia. This extensive history includes clients such as AusAID, the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Government of Indonesia Ministries and a range of organisations from the private sector. In addition to programs of technical assistance implemented across a variety of sectors, education and training has been PTAN’s core business. PTAN has successfully implemented more than thirty short term training programs under the Indonesia Australia Specialised Training Project (IASTP) Phases II and III, most recently in areas such as:

  • Gender Mainstreaming and Analysis.
  • Implementing Quality Assurance in Basic Education.
  • Training of Trainers for Avian Flu Vaccination Programs.
  • District and Provincial Financial Management.

From 2006 to 2007, PTAN was contracted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to manage and implement Phase I of the Bird’s Head Business Empowerment Program (BHBEP) in Papua. Our role was to design and deliver a program of training and mentoring improve the capabilities of Bird's Head businesses to better compete for opportunities arising from the economic development of the region.
